Dealer Spotlight: Carolina House Designs

Our fall Antiques and Old Stuff Show is THIS WEEKEND, September 28 & 29. Online ticket sales end tomorrow at 6pm. Tickets can be purchased at the gate all weekend at the Paso Robles Event Center!

For our final Dealer Spotlight before the fall show, we spoke with Heather from Carolina House Designs, to learn more about the unique farmhouse finds they’ll be bringing our way this weekend!

Who makes up the Carolina House Designs team?

Carolina House Designs is made up of myself, Heather and my mother, Bonnie. We have worked together for 20 years! A few years ago, my two-year-old daughter joined the team for all our travels and shows; she loves the adventure!

How did you get into antiquing?

You could say antiquing is in my blood! For as long as I can remember, my mother has collected and sold antiques. When I was a child, she had her own antique mall where I used to love looking at all of the amazing treasures. As I got older, we started working in design together and eventually came full circle back to antiques. We love the excitement of hunting for the perfect pieces to give new life!

What can shoppers expect this weekend from Carolina House Designs?

All things farmhouse and garden décor! At Carolina House Designs, we love everything rustic and old, which typically includes white chippy paint, galvanized anything and pine. We love to add balance to our pieces with texture. I find that mixing wood, metal, and a little greenery always ends up in the perfect combination. All these things go through my head when planning a space or designing a new piece. We try to bring fun new looks to each show!

How do you find your antiques?

We travel all over the country to pick our farmhouse finds. One of our favorite places to pick antiques is Texas! Twice a year we take a trip to Round Top, Texas, where we find many of the treasures that end up at our shows. We head out to the fields to handpick antiques, then haul them all back to Southern California to clean and refurbish!

Make sure to stop by the Carolina House Designs booth for all your vintage home and garden needs at the fall Antiques & Old Stuff Show on September 28 & 29!
